1)RCA Victor released the first 45 RPM vinyl records in 1949. The first 45 RPM record to be pressed regularly was "PeeWee the Piccolo"
on December 7, 1948. 45 RPM records are seven inches in diameter and spin faster than LP records. The higher RPM gives 45s better sound quality, but it also means that only a few minutes of recorded sound can be stored on each side. 45s also last longer than shellac 78s and tend not to shatter if dropped. Original 45s are highly collectible and can be worth a few dollars to hundreds or thousands.
2)Capital Records 45 RPM records are 7-inch records that play at 45 RPM, which is faster than the 33 ⅓ RPM that most vinyl records play.
